ACTING FOR NON-ACTORS

or

THE USE OF ROLE-PLAY IN EVERYDAY LIFE

This workshop is about bringing more swing and intensity into our daily lives!

Acting for Non Actors

Broadening your "role-play repertoire" livens up your performance in every situation and helps to make you a fascinating personality.

It is also helpful for meeting our everyday challenges in communication and inspiring new solutions.

We work with the elements of role-play- words, body, and voice- to increase our emotional flexibility and communication skills.

An important consequence of this work is being able to present and "sell" yourself better, and becoming more confident and relaxed in your presentation style.

This workshop is based on the work of actor-teachers who have contributed to the development of theatre as a social, pedagogic and artistic medium.

Our aim is not to become professional actors. Our aim is to use improvisation and role-play as an "applied art" which can help us in our relationships with others.

How will this workshop help you?

  • You will learn acting techniques that are useful in your work and in your private life.
  • Through the improvisation exercises you experience new aspects of your "social self"
  • You intensify your contact with your body and its language, and you can use this knowledge in communicating with others.
  • You learn how to use your voice as a musical and rhythmic instrument, to bring liveliness and expression into your speech and to protect your voice from strain.
  • You lose some of your adult inhibitions and experience again, what it's like to play like a child!
